Mexico 12U Fall To Diablos After Surrendering Big Second Inning

Diablos scored seven runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Mexico 12U 9-1 on Thursday at Kiest Park.

Mexico 12U opened the scoring in the first after Jathan drew a walk, scoring one run.

Diablos took the lead in the bottom of the first. Hernandez hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, to give Diablos the leg up, 2-1.

Diablos scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Rodriguez drew a walk, scoring one run, Barree drew a walk, scoring one run, Reyes singled, scoring two runs, Carbajal singled, scoring one run, and Valdez singled, scoring two runs.

Carbajal earned the win for Diablos. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking none. Aileen took the loss for Mexico 12U. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, surrendering one run on three hits, striking out one and walking one. Aaron led things off on the bump for Mexico 12U. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and six runs over one inning, striking out none and walking five. Valdez stepped on the mound first for Diablos. The hurler allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out six and walking three.

Jathan led Mexico 12U with one run batted in.  James M led Mexico 12U with one hit in one at bat.

Diablos collected 10 hits in the game. Carbajal, Reyes, and Tyler each collected two hits for Diablos. Hernandez, Reyes, and Valdez each drove in two runs for Diablos. Barree led Diablos with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Barree, Reyes, and Tyler each stole multiple bases for Diablos. Diablos stole 13 bases in the game. Diablos were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hernandez made the most plays with nine.
